Classic Cars for Sale from the USA
The United States has the largest classic car market in the world: 1950s cruisers, 1960s convertibles, muscle cars, trucks and pre-war survivors, many kept for decades in dry, rust-free climates.
We source cars from sellers and dealers across the country and show each one at its delivered price to your destination port, so you know what a car really costs to bring home before you enquire.

Why buy a classic car in the USA?
Detroit built cars in huge numbers for decades, and a large share of them are still on the road. That means more choice of models, body styles, colours and options than any other market, and a well-developed network of restorers, parts suppliers and specialists.
Climate matters too. Cars that spent their lives in the south-western states, such as Arizona, Nevada, Texas or southern California, are often far more solid than cars from regions that salt their roads in winter. And almost every American car is left-hand drive, which suits continental Europe and many other markets.
What to check on any classic
Every classic is individual, so judge the car rather than the model. A few checks apply to all of them:
- Structure before shine: floors, sills, frame rails and the lower edges of doors, wings and boot lids show the car's real condition.
- Originality: engine and body numbers, data plates and build documents tell you whether the car is what the seller says it is.
- History: receipts, restoration photos and previous owners' records support the price and later resale.
- Paperwork for export: the seller must be able to provide the US title (ownership document). US Customs requires it to be presented before a vehicle leaves the country, and we handle that step.
Import duty and VAT on classic cars
Many countries treat older vehicles in original condition as collectors' items. In the European Union, a vehicle that is generally at least 30 years old, in its original state and of historical interest can be classified as a collectors' item, with no import duty and, in several countries, a reduced VAT rate (for example 5.5% in France or 7% in Germany). The United Kingdom applies 5% import VAT to qualifying historic vehicles. Conditions apply in each case, so check our country pages for your market.
The delivered price covers the car, US inland transport, ocean freight to your destination port and our service. Customs duties, import VAT or taxes, port charges at destination, registration and any local compliance costs are paid separately. Shipping times are estimates that depend on the port, shipping line, customs and destination country.
Frequently asked questions
What counts as a classic car?
There is no single definition. Collectors often use 25 years or more, while tax and registration rules in many countries use 30 years, sometimes with conditions about originality. On this page we list vehicles from model year 1995 and earlier.
Do I pay import duty on a classic car?
It depends on your country and the car. Many countries reduce or waive duty and VAT for historic vehicles that meet age and originality conditions. Duties and taxes are never included in our delivered price, and our country pages explain the rules for each market.
What does the delivered price include?
The car, transport inside the USA to the departure port, ocean freight to your destination port and our service. Customs duties, import VAT or taxes, destination port charges, registration and local compliance costs are not included.
How do I know the car's real condition?
Before you buy we can arrange a detailed video inspection, and we share the photos, documents and history available for the car so you can decide with confidence.
Which documents come with the car?
You receive the US title, the bill of sale and the shipping documents. These are what customs and registration authorities in your country will ask for.
